CLINTON - DeWitt County's most wanted fugitive was arrested Friday by DeWitt County sheriff's police acting on an anonymous tip on the Clinton Crimestoppers phone line. | MyPantagraph: Clinton Neighborhood

David G. Ryburn Jr., 41, Clinton, was found about 5 p.m. hiding under a clothes pile in an unoccupied residence in the 300 block of South Main Street, Waynesville, said DeWitt County sheriff's police in a statement. The house once belonged to his late grandfather.

The arrest came a day after DeWitt County sheriff's police issued a plea for public help in the case and called him the county's most-wanted fugitive.

Ryburn was wanted on a warrant charging him with committing criminal sexual assault Monday night in rural DeWitt County. Ryburn knew the victim, police said.

A juvenile was arrested Wednesday in the same case.

Ryburn was jailed in lieu of $50,000 bond.
