Three men suspected in the shooting reportedly walked into Cassius Fade Em, 606 W. Market St., about 12:40 p.m., police said. One man shot the youth, and then the three ran to a car, police said.
No descriptions of the suspects or the car were available Friday night, police said. The victim's name was not released.
About 15 minutes after the shooting, rescue crews brought the victim outside the shop on a gurney. He was sitting up and alert and was helped inside the ambulance.
There was no known motive for the shooting. Police were investigating whether the shooter and victim knew each other.
"There was no robbery," said police spokesman Dave White.
This was the second shooting in Bloomington in three days, and police spokesman Duane Moss said it was too early to tell whether the incidents were related.
In the previous case, Dewayne Farris, 16, of Bloomington told police he was shot by someone from a moving car on the city's near west side. Police were contacted about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday when the youth went to a hospital.
He initially was hospitalized at OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, with an abdominal wound but subsequently was released, a nursing supervisor said Friday.
