DOWNS - At least six area fire departments responded to a fire at a storage shed northeast of Downs on Monday night, though there were no reports of injuries, authorities said early Tuesday.

A caller to 911 reported seeing an orange glow around 10:40 p.m., said Bill Goldsberry with McLean County's Metcom emergency dispatch center. Crews responding to the scene at 8118 North 2200 East Road found a storage shed on fire and eventually called in other departments, he said.

Responding to the fire were crews from Downs, Ellsworth, Bloomington Township, Colfax, Towanda and Heyworth, he said. Firefighters from Bloomington Township returned to their station by 11:45 p.m., fire officials said.

No one was transported from the scene due to injuries, Goldsberry said.

More information was not immediately available Tuesday.
