NORMAL - Richard Farr was nominated as the Republican candidate for Normal Township supervisor at a Republican caucus Tuesday night at the Normal Township office.

Farr, who has served as township supervisor since 2001, received 93 votes while his opponent, Steve Westerdahl, community development director of the town of Normal, received 61 votes.

The township supervisor's post was the only contested race at the caucus.

Farr does not face a Democratic opponent at this time in the April 7 election.
