SCHOLARSHIP

SIUC

NORMAL - Matthew D. Conway, son of Brian and Dawn Conway of Normal, has received the Dean's Scholarship Award, valued at $6,000, to attend Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.

Conway will be a 2009 graduate of Normal Community High School.

SIUC

NORMAL - Cassandra Irmeger, daughter of Edward and Kathryn Irmeger of Normal, has received a Provost Scholarship Award, valued at $8,000, to attend Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.

Irmeger will be a 2009 graduate of Normal Community West High School.

COLLEGE HONOR

Illinois State

NORMAL - Illinois State University President Al Bowman has appointed Susan Sprecher, Sociology and Anthropology and a joint appointment with Psychology, as Distinguished Professor effective Aug. 16, 2009.

Distinguished professors are invited to deliver one public lecture or presentation on a topic of their choosing, receive a $1,000 budget per annum and hold the title throughout their service to Illinois State.

Sprecher has been on the faculty since 1985 and received her bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Eureka College

ROANOKE - Teresa Kennell of Roanoke received the Eureka College staff recognition award at the college's holiday dinner Dec. 12.

Kennell has worked in administrative support for the office of development and alumni relations for 10 years.

MISCELLANEOUS

BPD

BLOOMINGTON - Sgt. Troy Doza, a member of the Bloomington Police Department, has graduated from the School of Police Staff and Command at Northwestern University.

The 10-week program provides upper-level college instruction in 22 core blocks of instruction. Major topics include management, organizational behavior, human resources for law enforcement, budgeting, staffing allocation and personnel deployment.

NORMAL - Lindsay M. Andreas of Normal received a bachelor of fine arts degree Dec. 19 from Missouri State University, Springfield.

Ind. Wesleyan

NORMAL - Nathan Brittingham of Normal received a bachelor of arts degree in applied music Dec. 13 from Indiana Wesleyan University, Marion.
