BLOOMINGTON - A 91-year-old Bloomington woman injured when an SUV crashed into her apartment last week remains in critical condition at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, a hospital official said Monday.

Police said a neighbor trying to park an SUV accidentally drove through a parking shelter and into the apartment at 1901 Tracy Drive Thursday. Vera Ely was hit in the head by debris.

The driver told police she didn't know why her vehicle unexpectedly accelerated. The crash remains under investigation. The driver was ticketed with driving an uninsured vehicle, police said.
