PEKIN - A Pekin couple will get what could be called the gift of a lifetime. And they're not spending one penny for the hefty home makeover taking place this week.

They have been selected for the popular television show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition."

Steve and Jean Grys are the lucky recipients for the extreme makeover of their home here on 14th Street in Pekin.

The couple was informed earlier Tuesday they were selected for a home makeover.

Malanie Spurgeon, owner of Design Built Homes Limited in Peoria Heights, will work on the Extreme Makeover team.

Extreme Makeover designer Michael Moloney says the Gryses were selected because of their work as foster parents.

Extreme Makeover is sending the family to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., while the crew overhauls the home in one week.
