DAYTON, Ohio - A resident of Normal who graduated this year from the University of Dayton died of natural causes during a spring break trip to Florida, according to autopsy results.
Garrett Loiselle, 22, died May 12 after falling in a hotel room during the annual "Dayton to Daytona" trip to Florida that marked the end of the school year for many students.
In a statement released by the university, Loiselle's parents, Kerry and Paula Loiselle, said autopsy results showed that Loiselle died of cardiac arrest caused by an enlarged heart muscle.
The Volisia County Medical Examiner's office said alcohol was present but not a factor in the death.
Loiselle graduated with a bachelor's degree in finance. His sister, Lauren, will begin her third year at the Ohio university this fall.
