LeROY - A LeRoy high school teacher faces felony drug possession charges in connection with cocaine found in her pocket while police were investigating a domestic dispute at her home.

Miki Aberle, 27, an English teacher at LeRoy High School, posted $300 to be released Nov. 15, hours after her arrest on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

LeRoy Superintendent Gary Tipsord declined Monday to answer questions about the teacher's status with the school district.

"We don't comment on personnel issues," he said.

A cab driver who dropped Aberle at her home in the 1900 block of Parkwest Drive in Normal called police about a disturbance he witnessed in the driveway between Aberle and Courtney Lusher, according to police reports.

A probable cause statement filed in court indicates Aberle asked to go to the bathroom after police arrived to investigate the dispute.

When police asked Aberle about potential weapons in the bathroom, she pushed past the officer, according to court documents.

Police searched Aberle in connection with resisting an officer and the cocaine was found in her pocket, said the statement.

Lusher, 26, was charged with battery. He was released after posting $200.

Aberle is due in court for a Dec. 15 arraignment.
