BLOOMINGTON - The drowning death of a 13-year-old boy after an incident at the YWCA swimming pool has prompted the cancellation of Saturday's Get Moving Morning event.

The free event at the YWCA, 1201 N. Hershey Road, had been scheduled to feature adult/child activities including swimming, relay races, obstacle course, gymnastics, karate, fitness demonstrations, dancing and Gamma Phi Circus activities.

The event was part of The Pantagraph's ongoing Fit Kids series, focusing on healthy living for kids and families in light of recent public concern about childhood obesity.

The pool itself is scheduled to be closed until Sunday, YWCA officials said.
