CHICAGO - A Chicago high school football coach has been relieved of his responsibilities after being charged in a weekend bank robbery.
Shon Williams, 40, a former University of Miami lineman, was a coach at DuSable High School. He was removed from his coaching position Tuesday and reassigned to an administrative office, pending disciplinary action, said a Chicago Public School spokesman.
Williams and Benyusef Hicks are charged with robbing the National City Bank in Buffalo Grove on Saturday.
Witnesses said the pair bound the hands of three victims inside the bank before fleeing with $11,897.
Shortly after the robbery, police spotted a vehicle similar to the getaway car and gave chase, ending in a crash.
