City eyes changes to building codes
BLOOMINGTON - Proposed changes to the Bloomington building codes will be discussed at two public hearings at the end of March.
The city's Planning and Code Enforcement Department (or PACE) scheduled the first hearing for 2 p.m. March 29 in the community room of the Government Center, 115 E. Washington St. The second hearing is set for 7 p.m. March 29 at council chambers, City Hall, 109 E. Olive St.
Proposed are changes for new construction, residential, mechanical, fire, existing construction, fuel gas, property maintenance, as well as safety codes and fees for elevators and escalators.

Mall - Eastland Mall has had situations involving all types of solicitors, not just those from the military, said mall General Manager Katie Altrichter. A comment by Altrichter on mall policy was unclear in a story in Wednesday's Pantagraph.
