BLOOMINGTON - A man who was apparently asleep on railroad tracks Monday was not in danger of being run over by an approaching train, police said.

The call was about 3 p.m. Monday at Market Street and Morris Avenue, police said.

The train was traveling slowly, and a train employee called for help after spotting the man.

The first caller told police they thought the man was injured. The second caller said the man was possibly intoxicated.

The man, in his 30s, was taken to OSF St. Joseph Medical Center by the Bloomington rescue squad.

Additional information was unavailable.
