LINCOLN - Lincoln police are looking for a man who reportedly tried to rob Lincoln Dental Center and abduct one of its employees.

A man entered the rear, unlocked door a little before 6 p.m. Thursday, but he left after he was spotted by an employee, Lincoln Police Chief Stuart Erlenbush said.

The man apparently waited a short time for two female employees to leave.

As they exited, he displayed a "shiny revolver" and attempted to force one into a vehicle. She broke away and escaped to call police.

The other had seen the gun and slammed and locked the door, police said.

The man left in an older minivan, described as silver, gray or a primer color. He was described as wearing a baseball cap, glasses, a long-sleeved flannel shirt over a white shirt and blue jeans.

Police said he was described as having scruffy facial hair. While they issued a sketch of the suspect, they released no other physical description.

He had been seen by several employees of other businesses in the area prior to the incident, Erlenbush said.

Anyone with any information about the case is asked to contact the Lincoln Police Department at (217) 732-2151.
