BLOOMINGTON - Rain or shine, bargain hunters can peruse thousands of items at 80 booths at the Pantagraph Garage Sale at the Interstate Center, 2301 W. Market St., from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Vendors from nearly 30 communities will offer a multitude of household items, clothes and toys found at traditional garage sales, and more. Along with Betty Boop and Barbie will be liquor slot machines, a tent, screen house, antique toys, Bakelite bangles, homemade jams and relishes, primitives, tools and automotive, fishing, wrestling and racing gear.

Brand-new items include furniture, home décor, handmade beds, and bandanas for Fido and Fluffy-if you can get a cat to wear one.

The sale has always been a fantastic way to discover the unique and eclectic, said Terri Haerr, Pantagraph community services coordinator. "But with the economy, it's now a great place to fill the gift closet."

She noted the upcoming season for weddings, graduations, and Mother's and Father's Days, not to mention stocking up for birthdays, baby showers, etc., which crop up year-round.

"And there is so much stuff for kids - everything from clothes to toys to books," said Haerr, who said such variety in one place is a good way to save time and money.

Concessions are sold at the center.
