STREATOR - The 2003 case of a 7-year-old Streator boy who disappeared from his home and was found slain the next day was featured Monday night on CNN Headline News' Nancy Grace program.

As the Pantagraph first reported Jan. 19, police in Livingston County say the Missouri man accused of kidnapping two boys is a "person of interest" in the March 2003 death of Dalton Mesarchik of Streator.

Grace's show featured the Mesarchik killing and it's possible link to Michael Devlin of Kirkwood, Mo., who is accused of kidnapping two teenage boys, including one who was missing for four years.

Livingston County Sheriff Bob McCarty previously told the Pantagraph the department was interested in Devlin.

"We will consider any and all leads," McCarty said earlier this month. "We will look at a time line to see if he has any ties to the Streator area in 2003."

Missouri authorities also have been looking to see if Devlin is connected to the disappearance of other children over the last few years.

McCarty said Devlin's actions in the Missouri cases are different from those seen in the Mesarchik case. The boys in the Missouri case were detained but not killed.
