The condition of a 4-year-old boy hurt in a traffic accident has improved, said a spokeswoman at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Logan Volk of the 500 block of West Mill Street had been in serious to critical condition at OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, after the accident about 9 p.m. Wednesday. He was transferred that night to the Peoria hospital.
The boy was crossing the street near his home when he ran into the path of a GMC Jimmy driven by Richelle Rodriguez, 61, of the 600 block of West Oakland Avenue, police said.
Rodriguez told police she was going 20 mph to 25 mph when she saw something pop up into her headlights, police said. She was not injured, police said.
