Business damaged by wayward vehicle

BLOOMINGTON - A vehicle hit the front of Diamond Vogel Paints, 1110 E. Oakland Ave., and then the driver fled, Bloomington police said.

The crash was at 4:04 a.m. Friday. A police report called the damage "severe" but gave no details. Windows could be seen broken and boarded up at the business Monday night.

Trespassing - A 20-year-old Bloomington man wandered into a home in the 200 block of Edwards Drive, Normal, about 11 p.m. Friday and went to the basement. The people who lived there didn't know him.

The man, who was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol, said he intended to go to a friend's house, but was unsure of the location.

Burglary - A computer and DVDs were stolen Sunday from an apartment in the 600 block of Hester Avenue, Normal police said.

Burglary - Petty cash in a safe was stolen from an apartment leasing office Friday or Saturday in the 700 block of West Orlando Avenue, Normal police said.

Burglary - Cash was stolen Dec. 23 or 24 from Great Clips, 1700 Parkway Plaza, Normal police said.

Burglary - A window was broken in a break-in to Bill Smith Auto Parts, 2102 S. Bunn St., McLean County sheriff's police said. The burglary was reported at 8 p.m. Sunday. Nothing was reported missing.

Vehicle burglary - Credit cards, a driver's license, a purse and employee ID card were stolen from a car in the 200 block of Hillside Lane between 10 p.m. Dec. 26 and 5:30 a.m. Dec. 27, a Bloomington police report said.
