BLOOMINGTON - A second meeting has been planned for discussion about Bloomington's west-side revitalization.
It is set for 6:30 p.m. July 17 at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, 801 W. Market St. The first meeting was in early May.
The City of Bloomington has partnered with the Economic Development Council of Bloomington-Normal, businesses and neighborhood associations to study how the area immediately west of the city's downtown can be rebuilt and attract more homeowners and businesses.
The city and State Farm Bank put up $90,000 for Teska Associates, a planning group, to conduct the study.
City Manager Tom Hamilton said the July 17 meeting was an addition to Teska's original plans for the study. More than 200 people attended the first meeting.
Dennis Arnold, president of Gridley-Allin-Prickett Neighborhood Association, said the second meeting was needed because there was not enough time in the first to hear everyone's ideas.
