NORMAL - People are getting calls saying there is an issue with their credit union account, which police believe is a scam to get people to give their personal information for illegal financial gain, Normal police said Wednesday.
Normal police got three calls from citizens in three hours Wednesday afternoon about a recorded message purportedly from Prairieland Federal Credit Union, 416 Kays Drive, Normal. But police said those calls did not come from the credit union.
The recorded message includes a number to call, police said. Two of the people Normal police talked to were customers at that credit union, and one was not.
