NORMAL - Four bands will play a concert tonight in honor of a slain Illinois State University student, and organizers expect the money raised will enable a scholarship to be endowed in her name.

Ticket sales benefit the Olamide E. Adeyooye Memorial Scholarship Fund, created shortly after the ISU senior's death in October 2005.

Quiet Drive, June and The Junior Varsity, all on the Victory Records label, along with Crown Atlantic, will perform at the concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Bone Student Center Prairie Room.

Andy Wildrick, a close friend of Adeyooye and a member of The Junior Varsity, helped organize the concert.

The Indie-rock and alternative show promises four performances for one ticket price, event organizer Adam Goduto said. He leads the ISU Student Foundation, which is working to create the scholarship in Adeyooye's name.

Tickets are $13 at Ticketmaster outlets and at ticketmaster.com. They also are available today at the Bone Student Center Box Office until 8:30 p.m.

The scholarship will be awarded during the university's 150th celebration in 2007, Goduto said.

Adeyooye disappeared from her Normal apartment in October 2005; a few days later, authorities found her body in rural Mississippi.

A man who lived in Adeyooye's neighborhood, 28-year-old Maurice Wallace, was convicted of her murder and is serving a life sentence for the crime.

Adeyooye was to graduate with her peers last spring, and ISU bestowed her bachelor's degree posthumously.
