LATHAM - Authorities identified on Thursday a 44-year-old woman who died from injuries suffered in a one-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon west of Latham.

Kathy S. Derbort of rural Warrensburg died about 3:40 p.m. at Decatur Memorial Hospital. She was taken to the hospital after a crash just before 2 p.m. along Illinois 121 near Fourth Street in Latham.

Police said Derbort was driving south when her sport utility vehicle left the road and began spinning. Her SUV struck a signpost before colliding with a concrete culvert and overturning, police said.

The SUV rolled 2½ times and Derbort was thrown.

It wasn't known why the vehicle left the road, police said.
