BLOOMINGTON - Two men were arrested after a fight around midnight Friday in which baseball bats were used as weapons and a juvenile was injured - at least the second blunt-object attack on the city's west side in a nine-hour span.

The fight - similar to other skirmishes involving roving groups of young men that have led to small-scale violence this summer - happened in a parking lot in the 400 block of North Lee Street, police said Saturday morning. The juvenile was hit with a baseball bat, but police declined to describe the injuries because the person was a minor.

The two men will likely face battery and mob action charges and could appear before a judge later Saturday, police said. Police were not looking for anyone else in connection with the fight.

The fight came hours after a 17-year-old male was hit in the head with a golf club and another blunt object in a store parking lot in the 900 block of West Market Street. He was treated and released from a hospital.

Police were looking for two males, ages 17 and 20, in connection with that attack, which appeared to be linked to a prior dispute. The attack, which happened around 3:30 p.m., spilled over into nearby Pop's Grocery, which had some damage, police said.

More information on that attack was expected later Saturday.

Police said there was no obvious connection between the two Friday incidents.
