NORMAL - Several school activities were been canceled Tuesday following the death of a Normal Community High School senior.

Christianna Michelle Wilbourn, 18, of Bloomington died Tuesday morning at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center.

The high school's senior awards night Tuesday was postponed until May 18, and the softball and baseball games scheduled for Tuesday were canceled.

Social workers from Unit 5 and counselors from the high school were available all day for students, said Unit 5 spokeswoman Dayna Brown.

"The school met with the senior class this morning," Brown said Tuesday. "Our thoughts and prayers are with her immediate family and her extended family at Normal Community."

McLean County Chief Deputy Coroner Barb Nafziger said an autopsy performed Tuesday indicated Wilbourn died of natural causes. But the case remains open until the toxicology and other routine test results are completed, she added.

Last month Wilbourn received a scholarship from the Links, a nonprofit organization which fosters friendship and service among African-American women. She also was named the Normal Rotary Club's Student of the Month for March.

Wilbourn's mother, Armie Wilbourn, is a teacher at NCHS.

Visitation is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at First Assembly of God, Normal, with a service to follow, according to Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington.

Burial will be at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
