ROCK ISLAND - An 88-year-old woman has died after being struck by a golf cart at a western Illinois casino.

Rock Island County Coroner Brian Gustafson says Virginia Armon of Peru died at a Rock Island hospital after the accident at Jumer's Casino and Hotel Friday afternoon.

The golf cart was being used to take visitors to and from the casino's parking lot. It was in reverse when it struck Armon.

Gustafson says an autopsy is scheduled for Monday, and a coroner's inquest is pending.
