NORMAL - A former Unit 5 teacher charged with molesting 11 children in Urbana and Bloomington posted $175,000 bond and is out of jail.

Jon Andrew White, 26, Normal, posted bond over the weekend at Champaign County Jail, according to jail records.

The $175,000 represents 10 percent of a $1.75 million bond that was issued from both McLean and Champaign counties.

White is charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving two first-graders at Colene Hoose Elementary School, Normal. He taught there from 2003 to 2005.

White was charged in March in McLean County. In February, he was charged with predatory criminal sexual assault involving nine students at Thomas Paine Elementary School, Urbana.

White also taught at Brigham Elementary School in Bloomington, but no charges have been filed in connection with students there.

He posted bond early Sunday morning, according to Champaign County records.
