Public Safety for Aug. 8:
A car was broken into sometime between 10 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 a.m. Monday in the 1800 block of Johnson Drive, Normal, a police report said. An MP3 player was taken and the face plate for an in-dash CD player was taken or damaged, the report said.
Vehicle burglary - Someone broke into a car sometime between 10 p.m. Monday and 5:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 2000 Block of North Kennedy Lane, Normal, a Normal police report said. It was unclear what if anything was taken.
A Chicago man was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle after he was found with a woman's van.
Edward Colon, 40, must post $2,000 to be released on the charges.
Retail theft - A 33-year-old Bloomington man was fined $200 and placed on 24 months of conditional discharge for retail theft.
Jose Gonzalez-Menendez of the 1400 block of Croxton Avenue, was accused of taking electronics items from Meijer, Bloomington, on May 2. He also was sentenced to four days in jail and given credit for two days served.
Suspended license - An Aug. 22 arraignment is scheduled for a Bloomington man facing a felony charge of driving on a suspended license.
The charge is the seventh suspended license charge for James L. Stewart, 26, of the 2200 block of Todd Drive.
The six previous violations include one in 2001, two in 2003 and three in 2004, according to court records.
Aggravated DUI - Deven Morgan, 30, of the 100 block of College Park Court, Normal, faces a felony charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a valid license.
He was jailed in lieu of posting $3,000.
Robbery - A Bloomington teen has been charged with robbery and aggravated battery after police said she stole a woman's purse.
Brittney Caldwell, 17, of the 1000 block of North Lee Street, was jailed in lieu of posting $500.
Bloomington police said she struck a woman and took her purse Monday on Market Street.
Marijuana - A 21-year-old Harvey man is accused of selling marijuana on three occasions to Normal police vice officers.
Dwight Brooks was jailed in lieu of posting $3,000 on charges of unlawful delivery of marijuana and unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
The charges stem from incidents July 24, Friday and Monday, and each incident involved 30 to 500 grams of marijuana, court records said.
Trespassing - A 53-year-old Bloomington man is accused of breaking into a home Tuesday in the 900 block of West Grove Street, Bloomington, court records said.
James Hurley of the 400 block of South Allin Street was jailed in lieu of posting $1,000 on felony charges of criminal trespass to a residence and criminal damage to property.
Marijuana - A Bloomington man is accused of selling 30 t0 500 grams of marijuana on Monday to an undercover Normal police officer, court records said.
Michael Henry, 45, of the 400 block of Fox Hill Circle, was jailed in lieu of posting $3,000 on charges of unlawful delivery of marijuana and unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
Cocaine - A Bloomington man is charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a church, court records said.
Joseph Bard, 52, of the 100 block of West Market Street, Bloomington, was jailed in lieu of posting $3,000. He is accused of selling less than a gram of cocaine to a Normal police officer near Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, 801 W. Market St., Bloomington, records said.
Burglary - A Bloomington man is accused of breaking into a home and a car on July 29 on Nottingham Chase, rural Downs, court records said.
Ryan Cielocha, 20, of Hill Crest Lane, Bloomington, was jailed in lieu of posting $5,000 on charges of residential burglary and burglary.
Retail theft - A homeless man is charged with two counts of felony retail theft.
David Hall, 45, was jailed in lieu of posting $1,500. Court documents said Hall entered a Jewel store on two occasions and each time placed bottles of liquor valued at more than $150 in a backpack and left without paying.
Cocaine - A Streator man received 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to selling cocaine near City Park.
LaSalle County Judge Cynthia Raccuglia could have sentenced Donald Rogers, 25, to 30 years in prison. The judge noted Rogers' extensive criminal record in passing sentence.
An informant working with Illinois State Police contacted Rogers about buying cocaine, which was purchased on Vermilion Street near the park.
Battery - A Bloomington man is accused of grabbing a woman and preventing her from calling 911 in a July 26 incident at a woman's home, court records said.
John Kerrick, 20, of the 1000 block of West Front Street, was charged with criminal trespass to a residence, interfering with the report of domestic violence and domestic battery-subsequent offense. He was jailed in lieu of posting $500.
