June 30, 1933: Jimmy Johnson, the Normal Flash from ISNU, defeated a co-holder of the world record for the 100-yard dash in a track meet at Soldier Field in Chicago. That opponent was a high school kid from Cleveland, just developing a reputation as a sprinter: Jesse Owens.

June 30, 1958: The long-awaited demolition of Old Main, the oldest classroom building at ISNU, will have to wait a while. Dismantling crews found a mother cat and three kittens nesting in the walls of the porch. Efforts to lure the cats out have not yet paid off.

June 30, 1983: Former Police Chief Donald Story is up for the job of Director of Police Services in Erie, Pennsylvania. He has the backing of Erie's mayor, but says there's more talking to do yet. Story resigned from the Bloomington department, apparently under pressure.
