Tim Gunn from 'Project Runway' to speak at ISU this week

NORMAL - Tim Gunn, a fashion expert and co-host of television's "Project Runway," will be the keynote speaker Wednesday for Illinois State University's Science and Technology Week.

Tim Gunn will speak in conjunction with the Apparel Merchandising and Design Association Fashion Show at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Bone Student Center Brown Ballroom.

Tickets for the event are $20 for students and $30 for others and are available at ticketmaster.com. For ticket information, call (309) 438-7602.

Gunn will sign books following the event, which is co-sponsored by Illinois State's Center for Mathematics, Science and Technology and the Sage Trust Fund.

Gunn is chief creative officer at Liz Claiborne Inc. He currently stars in his own show, "Tim Gunn's Guide to Style," which is based on his book, "Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality, Taste, and Style," published in 2007.

Previously, Gunn served as chairman of the fashion design department at Parsons The New School for Design.
