Following is a list of local events to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth:

Civil War secrets; 5-6 p.m. Wednesday, Towanda District Library. Speaker: Quiltmaker Sue Keeran on hidden quilt messages.

Bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln's birth; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, David Davis Mansion State Historic Site, Bloomington. Free. Also 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Feb. 14. Tour, stories, cake. U.S. Supreme Court Justice David Davis was a friend and contemporary of Lincoln.

Bicentennial birthday celebration; all day Thursday, McLean County Museum of History, 200 N. Main St., Bloomington. Free admission, refreshments, photograph on Lincoln bench, scavenger hunts, kids' crafts. Co-sponsored by WJBC

Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln visit; 10 a.m. Thursday, Bloomington Public Library Community Room. Impersonators: Chris Hotz and Deborah Senger of the Spirits of Bloomington.

"Abe's Birthday Bash"; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, main floor of Illinois State University's Milner Library, Normal. Birthday treats, displays, readings.

"Lincoln's in Town"; 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday, Bloomington Center for the Performing arts. Cost: $19, adults; $10, 13 and younger. Sponsored by The Pantagraph. "A Day with Abe Lincoln"; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Erlicher Research Center, Pekin; research, 9 to 11:30 a.m.; Lincoln impersonator David Edwards, 1 p.m.; break between. Sponsor: Tazewell County Genealogical & Historical Society.

Lincoln birthday open house; 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Simpkins War Museum, 605 E. Cole, Heyworth. Includes reading of Lincoln's farewell address to Springfield (2 p.m.); Gettysburg Address (3 p.m.), both by Lincoln presenter Gary Simpkins.
