PHOENIX - Phoenix police say an officer has died four days after he was injured during a charity boxing match.
The fight was called shortly before Officer Barry Scott lost consciousness Friday night. He was taken to the hospital and placed on life support but died Tuesday afternoon. The department's statement didn't say how he was injured.
The boxing matches were to raise money for a charity that supports families of officers or firefighters killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.
Scott joined the police department in 2007 after an 18-month tour of duty in Iraq with the Army National Guard.
Police say funeral arrangements are pending.
