BLOOMINGTON - The investigation of a robbery in which a shot was fired Sunday at Windjammer Lounge is hampered by a lack of good description of the three robbers, police said.

"They were wearing hooded sweatshirts and dressed in black," said Bloomington Police Department spokesman Duane Moss.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken in the robbery about 9:45 p.m. Sunday in the tavern at 2303 Stern Drive, police said.

One robber with a black snub-nosed revolver fired into the north wall of the tavern, Moss said, adding that he had no information on the caliber of the weapon or if the slug was recovered.

Two male patrons were struck in the head with what appeared to be a paintball rifle, but no one was seriously hurt, police said.

Money was taken from a register and from a small safe. One patron had his wallet taken, and another had personal possessions stolen.

A police dog was taken to scene, but it didn't turn up anything, Moss said.

Police had previously said that the robbers, thought to be in their late teens or early 20s, fled toward an apartment complex along Prospect Road.
