BLOOMINGTON - Tari Renner will announce his plans for a discovery recount Wednesday at Bloomington City Hall.

Renner is 15 votes behind incumbent Steve Stockton in the race for Bloomington mayor. Last week, the Bloomington Election Commission declared Stockton the winner of the April 7 race.

Stockton and aldermen elected to the City Council will be sworn in to start their new terms during a ceremony at 4 p.m. Friday at City Hall.

Renner can petition for a discovery recount, which will recount up to 25 percent of the city's 21 precincts. The information Renner gathers from the discovery recount could be used as evidence to seek a court order for a full recount.
