BLOOMINGTON -- Michelle Anderson was appointed McLean County auditor Tuesday by the County Board.

Anderson, a graduate of Illinois State University with the double major of accounting and business teacher education, has worked in the auditor's office for two years, most recently as a financial reporting specialist.

She was one of two people applying for the post left vacant by the July 31 retirement of Jackie Dozier, who served in the elected position for nine years.

Anderson does not plan any changes in the office but will "continue strong internal controls," she said.

Her annual salary will be $79,585. She formerly made $46,043.
