BLOOMINGTON -- Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Aug. 22 for a concert headlined by country music superstar Kenny Chesney at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum in downtown Bloomington.

Appearing with Chesney will be Miranda Lambert and the Zac Brown Band, according to the Coliseum's Web site.

Tickets cost $79.50, $49.50 and $29.50 and will be available online at www.Ticketmaster.com, by calling 800-745-3000 or in person at the Coliseum box office.

The concert, first reported by The Pantagraph on Friday, could be the biggest in the three-year history of the arena. Previously, the best-selling concert was in February 2007 when singer John Mayer appeared.

The stop, at 7:30 p.m., Sept. 17, is part of Chesney's Sun City Carnival tour that includes 50 dates across the country.

Chesney, a native of Luttrell, Tenn., is the four-time (and current) Academy of Country Music and four-time and reigning Country Music Entertainer of the Year.

In a press release from the Coliseum today, Chesney is quoted as saying of the tour's venues, "We're gonna try to mix it up again this year. We've got a bunch of football stadiums - because that is an experience like no other, but we're also going to do some amphitheatres and arenas... and knowing us, we'll probably pop up in a bar or honky tonk or two along the way."
