LINCOLN -- Relatives of a slain Beason family will be in court Wednesday, looking for answers.

People close to Rick and Ruth Gee and their children, Justina Constant, Dillen Constant and Austin Gee, are hopeful that their questions will be answered at court appearances for Christopher J. Harris, 30, and Jason L. Harris, 22. The victims were found Sept. 21 in their Beason home by Rick Gee's stepfather.

"We need to know something -- even the motive--about why these two have been arrested," said Terry Miller, Dillen's stepmother. If information is not disclosed in court, Miller said the family is prepared to ask police for more answers.

Charges have also been filed against Sara Duncan and her daughter, Jennifer Earnest, because authorities said they gave false alibis to investigators for Chris Harris.

Miller said she and Dillen's father, Gerald Miller, have been given few details of the circumstances of the killings. Authorities told the family that the victims "put up one hell of a fight" before their deaths, said Miller, but no one has explained what links the Harris brothers to the deaths.

Chris Harris was once married to Nicole Gee, Rick Gee's daughter.

Searchers spent several days looking through corn and soybean fields for a cylinder-shaped object and a sharp-edged tool that may have been used as weapons. Authorities said blunt force trauma to the head caused the deaths of all five victims and the injuries to Tabitha Gee, 3, who survived the attacks.

The pool of people affected by the slayings reaches far beyond Beason. Rick and Ruth Gee each had children from previous relationships in addition to children of their own. The web of family connections includes Army Spc. Elijah Shreve, Terry Miller's son, who recently posted a message on his MySpace page.

"Nothing will compensate for such a life and if I could take your place I would. I promise you my little bro that this will not be let off easy. What makes me so proud of you is that you didn't go down without a fight and that means you're a real little soldier in my eyes. You deserve a medal of honor in my eyes," Shreve wrote on the online social networking site.

Another of Dillen's siblings, Heather Ramsey, who is also a daughter of Terry Miller, said she is exploring the idea of a charitable foundation to assist children with special needs in honor of her stepbrother.

"We want to call it the JDAT Foundation -- for Justina, Dillen, Austin and Tabitha. It could help other kids their age with things they need, like school supplies," said Ramsey, a senior at Lincoln High School.
