CHICAGO -- A former top aide to President George W. Bush will be in Chicago on Nov. 16 to headline a fundraiser benefiting state Sen. Dan Rutherford's bid for state treasurer.
Karl Rove, a senior adviser in the Bush administration, is the latest national political figure to stump on behalf of Rutherford's candidacy. Former GOP presidential candidate Mitch Romney also campaigned for the Chenoa lawmaker.
Rutherford, thus far, is unchallenged in the Feb. 2 primary election.
