PONTIAC -- A married couple from Dwight face up to 40 years in prison after they were found guilty Tuesday of drug charges.

Jimmy Lee Tilley Jr., 36, and Tina Tilley, 33, were charged with the Class X felony of participating in making between 100 and 400 grams of methamphetamine. Sentencing will be in December.

They were arrested in early February after police were tipped to a meth lab in the couple's home.

Jimmy Tilley was accused of making the drug, a powerful nervous system stimulant that can be made with common household items. Tina Tilley was accused of knowing about the production and buying items necessary to make the drug.

"The bottom line is not only do we have a confession but we have evidence tying him to the manufacturing," said Livingston County Assistant State's Attorney Scott Terry.

Associate Judge Robert Travers said the evidence was "overwhelming" for Jimmy Tilley and that his wife's actions meant she participated in making the drug.

After the bench trial, Jimmy Tilley told the court he would like to see a reduced sentence for his wife.

"She would have had nothing to do with this if it wasn't for me," he said.
