BLOOMINGTON -- A bicycle safety rodeo is 9 a.m. Saturday at Sarah Raymond School, 1402 W. Olive St.
Advance registration is noon to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Bloomington Police Department's public affairs office or call 434-2534. It was planned after a boy, 10, died July 7 in a bike-semi-trailer truck accident in a parking lot off Brown Street.
Walk-up registration starts at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the school. Minimum age is five years old; no training wheels allowed. Parents must sign a waiver. The limit is 100 children, who get free lunch. Children should bring bikes for inspection; helmets provided if needed. Four bikes and eight $25 gift cards will be given away in a raffle.
