LeROY -- A Mahomet man was injured when his .45-caliber handgun accidentally discharged on his right thigh at a gun range, McLean County sheriff's police said Tuesday.

Kerwin Keller, 29, was putting his gun back into the holster at LeRoy Rifle and Pistol Club, 2635 East North Road, at 11:20 a.m. Sunday, unaware there was a round in the gun, reports said.

He was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, where no condition was available. The hospital told police his injury was non-life threatening and he would likely be treated without being admitted.
