BLOOMINGTON -- Two 22-year-old men from Lincoln were injured early Tuesday in a crash on the on-ramp to northbound Interstate 55 at Veterans Parkway, police said.

Robert M. Maestas, who was driving, reportedly lost control of the vehicle on the ramp from southbound Veterans to I-55 at around 1:20 a.m., Illinois State Police said in a statement. The vehicle rolled over on its top in the ditch along the south side of the ramp, police said.

Maestas was taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria, where he was listed in fair condition later Tuesday. The vehicle was totaled.

Passenger Justin T. Saylor was taken to OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, where he was listed in fair condition Tuesday afternoon.

Maestas was arrested on a preliminary charge of driving under the influence, state police said.
