BLOOMINGTON — The McLean County Health Department will have another H1N1 influenza vaccination clinic from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday at U.S. Cellular Coliseum, 101 S. Madison St., Bloomington.
The free clinic will be open to county residents who are pregnant; live with or care for infants younger than 6 months old; are health care or emergency medical services workers; are 6 months through 24 years old; or are 25 through 64 years old with certain chronic medical conditions or a weakened immune system.
In addition, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends a second dose of the vaccine for children ages 6 months through 9 years old about 28 days after the initial dose. Children who received their first H1N1 dose at the Sale Barn clinic on Oct. 20 will be able to get their second dose on Thursday. Parents must bring the vaccine administration card that they received at the Sale Barn.
McLean County has had 41 confirmed cases of H1N1 influenza and two of those people have died, said Erin Tolle Link of the health department. Many more people have had influenza — probably H1N1 — but haven’t had the test confirming it.
