BLOOMINGTON — The Bloomington Public Library will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday because of heating issues.
The library’s boiler was found “running hot” this morning and maintenance personnel have been called in for repairs. Library personnel have turned off the heater and expect the building to be too cool for patrons and staff by this evening, said Rhonda Massie, BPL spokeswoman.
The library, which normally would close at 9 p.m., does not have any programs scheduled for this evening, Massie said, adding that “we are optimistic” the library will reopen as usual on Thursday.
The bookmobile also will not run Wednesday.
