BLOOMINGTON — A 31-year-old Bloomington man faces multiple counts of aggravated methamphetamine manufacturing.

Jacob Laws of the 900 block of Washington Street was arrested Thursday in connection with a drug investigation by the Bloomington Police Department and its vice unit.

Bloomington police officers said Laws was in possession of drug paraphernalia when they encountered him late Wednesday in the 400 block of Brock Drive. A subsequent search of the man's nearby hotel room at Econo Lodge resulted in evidence of methamphetamine production, police said, adding the department was assisted by the Illinois State Police’s Methamphetamine Response Team.

The team seized around 128 grams of meth and dismantled the items used to produce the drug, BPD said in a news release.

Laws was jailed in lieu of posting $15,035.
