BLOOMINGTON — A 53-year-old Bloomington man faces multiple counts of predatory criminal sexual assault following an investigation that began in mid-November, the Bloomington Police Department said Wednesday.

The victim is under the age of 13, said BPD. The suspect, who has not been formally charged in court, is being held at the McLean County jail following his arrest Tuesday. He also faces multiple counts of criminal sexual abuse of a victim under 13.

The investigation was conducted by BPD, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and McLean County Children’s Advocacy Center, said BPD.

The investigation is ongoing, with BPD adding "there may be additional victims in the Bloomington-Normal area."
