BLOOMINGTON — Bloomington police are investigating a report of shots fired Saturday evening in the 2100 block of North Veterans Parkway.  

In a statement released Monday, police said they were called to the scene around 5:05 p.m. Saturday. A 25-year-old woman reported she was in her vehicle, along with an adult man and a child, at a parking lot.

An unknown black male approached the vehicle and displayed a handgun; she told officers she then heard several gunshots.

Another witness also heard the shots, and told police a black sedan was seen speeding through the parking lot. The vehicle was last seen driving north through the lot.

During a subsequent canvass of the area, several shell casing were recovered.

No injuries were reported.
