BLOOMINGTON — Bloomington police are investigating a reported armed robbery where shots were fired early Thursday morning outside the Knights of Columbus hall.

Officers responded around 1:17 a.m. after a 32-year-old man reported that as he was leaving the hall, 1706 R.T. Dunn Drive, he was approached by a man and a woman. Police said the woman asked the victim for directions and shortly after, a man approached and demanded the victim get on the ground. As the victim was on the ground, the male suspect fired his handgun twice. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled. There were no injuries reported.

The male, who was described as a black man, about 20 to 30 years old and wearing dark clothing, fled north in a dark-colored, four-door vehicle. The female was described as white, with dark hair in a pony tail, abouty 5-feet-5 inches tall and weighing 140 to 180 pounds. She was wearing a white, hooded sweatshirt and left in a white vehicle and headed south, police said.
