BLOOMINGTON — Bloomington police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect in a robbery early Friday on the city's east side.

A man was beaten and robbed just after midnight outside his residence in the 1100 block of North Hershey Road, police said.

The suspect, whose image was captured on video minutes prior to the crime, was described as a thin black male wearing a black leather coat, dark jeans, white shoes and a stocking cap.

Anyone who can identify the man or has information related to the case is asked to contact Detective Todd McClusky at 309-434-2380. 

If you want to remain anonymous, call McLean County Crime Stoppers at 309-828-1111. If your call leads to the arrest and indictment of a suspect, you may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
