BLOOMINGTON — Two Bloomington-Normal high schools are among Illinois' most challenging, according to the Washington Post.
Central Catholic High School in Bloomington and University High School in Normal placed 44th and 58th, respectively, in statewide rankings released this week. No other local high schools were ranked.
Central Catholic ranked 1,425th nationally. U High ranked 1,676th. The Post ranked 2,387 schools.
The Post ranks schools each year by the percentage of graduating seniors who took an advanced test, including advanced placement exams. Central Catholic grads took 1.925 tests on average; the U High average was 1.68.
International baccalaureate exams and advanced international certificate of education exams were also included.
