NORMAL — Heartland Community College has announced the dates when the four finalists for president will visit campus but has not yet released their names.
College officials said, consistent with the process used by the firm assisting in the search, Washington, D.C.-based Academic Search, individual candidate names will be made public the week of each candidate's visit to campus.
Each finalist will participate in interviews and forums with employees and the public.
The public session for community and alumni will be from 11:45 to 12:30 p.m. the first day of each campus visit.
The first visit will be Thursday and Feb. 23
The subsequent visit dates are Feb. 26-27, March 1-2 and March 5-6.
The finalists were chosen from among 50 applicants for the position to be vacated when Rob Widmer retires as president on June 30. The new president is expected to take over on in July.
The Presidential Search Advisory Committee met in early February to interview semifinalists and narrow the field to four.
